Biography
Ian Satchwell is a Senior Fellow at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute and an Adjunct Professor at The University of Queensland’s Sustainable Minerals Institute. In both roles, Ian is researching and writing on the geopolitics of minerals and the leading role played by Australia and its companies in global minerals supply chains, with a focus on critical minerals. He is also lead advisor to the Association of South East Asian Nations, working with ASEAN and its member nations to formulate the next ASEAN minerals development plan. Over five years, the plan’s initiatives will lay the foundations to increase investment in sustainable minerals development, lift ASEAN’s output and trade in mineral products along the value chain, and deliver economic and social benefits.
