Richard has been with Rio Tinto for 28 years and is passionate about creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, and included. As an operational leader, Richard sees the role we can all play in diversity and inclusion, and is the Iron Ore senior leadership champion for People at our Heart – the cultural foundation of Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore strategy.

As the Managing Director Rail, Ports and Core services, Richard has accountability for the end to end supply chain moving iron ore from seventeen mines across the Pilbara, onto our rail network, through four ports terminals at Dampier and Cape Lambert and delivering it to our customers.

Richard is also responsible for the Dampier Salt business and the provision of core services including towns and facilities management, support infrastructure, utilities and associated services across the iron ore operations.
