Sign up to our professional development newsletter list at the 26th World Mining Congress in Brisbane 26 - 29 June 2023 and go in the draw to win AU$1,500 towards AusIMM professional development.

Terms and Conditions

The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) (ABN 59 836 002 494), is the promoter of this competition and hereafter in the terms and conditions will be referred to as the ‘Promoter’.

By entering this competition, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to them.

The major prize is supplied by AusIMM.

1. The major prize consists of spending on professional development with AusIMM up to the value of $1500AUD. You can choose to spend the $1500 on any AusIMM course, conference or any other product excluding membership renewal
2. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and not redeemable for cash or in any other way.
3. To enter the competition, sign up to the Professional Development Newsletter list by inputting your details in the lead scanner application at the AusIMM stand at the 26th World Mining Congress, Brisbane June 26-29 2023.
4. The winner will be notified by email. If the winner fails to respond within 7 days, the Promotor reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and randomly select a new winner.
5. The prize must be redeemed and used within 12 months from the draw date.
6. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
7. The competition will close at 11.59pm (AEST) on Thursday 29 June 2023.
8. The winning entry will be drawn at random by 12pm on Monday 10 July 2023. The draw will be randomly selected using the Excel ‘random value’ function. The winner will be notified via email.
9. The Promoter of this competition reserves the right to seek verification of the winner’s age and identity and other relevant information. The Promoter’s decision is final and correspondence will not be entered into.
10. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter excludes all liability (including negligence), for any loss or damage of any nature arising out of the Promotion, including, without limitation, any variation in the value of the prize, any tax liability incurred by an entrant and any use of the prize.
11. The competition will be governed by the law of Victoria.
12. The Promoter reserves the right to modify or change the competition terms without notice.
13. By entering the competition you are consenting to the Promoter contacting you at a later date for marketing and promotion purposes. The winner agrees to the use of their name and image in any publicity material in association with the promotion of the competition.
14. If anyone is unsure about any aspect of this competition or if they are unsure about any of the terms and conditions, they are invited to ring the Promoter on 1800 657 985.
15. Only one entry will be accepted per person.
16. The winner’s name will be published in AusIMM News in July 2023.
