Diane Dowdell, FAusIMM
Diane Dowdell is an experienced ESG executive with more than two decades working across the global mining sector. She specialises in environmental and social leadership in ESG strategy, permitting, and stakeholder engagement. She has advised both major producers and junior mining companies on regulatory compliance, sustainability, cultural heritage protection, and biodiversity offset programs, with experience spanning Australia, Africa, South America, North America, and Europe.
Diane has led complex environmental and social reviews across multiple commodities, assessing conformance to international standards, including the IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and UN Sustainable Development frameworks.
Diane has a PhD in the social sciences from the University of Queensland, and a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Environmental Science. She is a fellow of both the AusIMM and EIANZ.
Diane will be moderating the panel discussion at the Western Australia State of Energy Forum, part of Australian Mining Week.
