Director, Head of Metals and Mining Corporate Research, Wood Mackenzie
James leads Wood Mackenzie’s metals and mining corporate research, with responsibility for strategy, benchmarking, and valuation analysis across the world’s leading metals and mining companies. He established the group’s initial coverage of diversified miners and drove its expansion into copper and gold companies.

James joined Wood Mackenzie in 2015 as a metals and mining consultant, specialising in transaction advisory and financing support. He acted as market adviser in the financing of several major base‑metals projects.
With more than 15 years of industry experience, James previously served as Investment Advisor to Baker Steel Resources Trust, a mining‑focused private equity fund. He began his career as a site project engineer, working on gold and base metals developments internationally.
James will be joining a panel discussion during the Critical Minerals Forum, part of Australian Mining Week London.
