Join AusIMM and EMD Indonesia in Jakarta for JORC 2026 and Beyond, an exclusive seminar featuring Andrew Hall, Vice Chairman of the JORC Committee.

Prior to the JORC webinar on 20 August, Andrew will provide an in-person update on the JORC Code Review, including the direction of changes to date and the key themes shaping the next edition of the Code.

Delegates will have the opportunity to hear directly from one of the leaders driving the review and gain valuable context on what the proposed changes could mean for industry professionals across the region.

More than just a JORC update, the seminar brings together industry leaders and technical experts to explore regulatory developments, emerging exploration technologies, innovation and professional collaboration across Indonesia and Southeast Asia, culminating in an industry networking reception.

Our speakers will share insights into:

  • The latest update on the JORC Code Review from Andrew Hall, Vice Chairman of the JORC Committee.
  • The key themes and direction of changes currently being considered as part of the review process.

Program Overview
Registration opens at 11:30am, with lunch served from 12:00pm, providing an opportunity for delegates to connect before the formal program commences.

 

Session 1 – Regulatory Developments & Reporting Standards
The seminar opens with a focus on the key regulatory developments and reporting standards shaping the future of mineral resource and reserve reporting across the region.

Featured Keynote: The JORC Code Review – Direction of Change and What It Means for Industry
Presented by Andrew Hall, Vice Chairman, JORC Committee

Andrew Hall will provide an update on the forthcoming revisions to the JORC Code, highlighting the practical implications for reporting, governance and industry practice.

The session will also feature an update from KCMI, providing insights into local reporting frameworks, current regulatory developments and ongoing alignment with international reporting standards.


Session 2 – Exploration Technology & Innovation
The second half of the seminar explores the latest technologies and methodologies transforming mineral exploration and resource development.

Presentations will cover:

  • UAV-mounted Magnetotelluric (MT) technology from Expert Geophysics in collaboration with Intrepid Geophysics.
  • Advanced geophysical interpretation and high-definition magnetic data processing.
  • A Timor-Leste case study featuring UAV surveys, LiDAR and AI-enabled exploration workflows.
  • Practical applications of artificial intelligence for unlocking value from historical geoscience datasets, presented by SensOre.
  • Current exploration initiatives and opportunities within Indonesia.
  • Geoscience data management and best-practice workflows through Geohub.

Learn how emerging technologies are improving exploration efficiency, accelerating discovery and unlocking new opportunities across the resources sector.

Networking Reception
The seminar will conclude with an AusIMM-sponsored networking reception from 4:25pm, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect with speakers, industry leaders, technical experts and fellow professionals in an informal setting.

Andrew Hall

Vice Chairman of the JORC Committee
Andrew Hall is Vice President and Head of Mine Smarter at AFRY, having previously served as Managing Director of AMC Consultants Pty Ltd prior to its acquisition by AFRY on 1 May 2026. He is a Fellow and Chartered Professional (Mining) of the AusIMM and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Andrew holds a Master of Science in Mineral Economics, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and a Graduate Diploma in Project Management.

With over 30 years of mining and management experience across more than 40 countries, his expertise spans strategy optimisation, business transformation, feasibility studies, and technical due diligence of underground and open pit metalliferous mining projects. He has written numerous technical papers and overseen the Public Reporting of Ore and Mineral Reserves under multiple international codes. Andrew is the Vice Chair of JORC having represented the AusIMM on the committee since 2020.
