Join the Central Victoria Branch for their North East Victoria Mine Tours and Tech talk: Uncovering the Mysterious Metallogeny of Eastern Victoria.

About this event

AusIMM Central Victoria Branch and pleased to announce their one‑night technical and networking excursion through North East Victoria, combining site visits, professional development and peer engagement.

The tour consists of two historic underground gold mines: William’s United Mine at Wandiligong and the Sambas Mine at Harrietville. These site visits will provide participants with an opportunity to observe historic mining operations and gain insight into the region’s mining heritage.

The ticket price includes one-night accommodation at Riverbank Park Hotel in Bright participants will travel to Bright and check in to accommodation. The evening program includes a group dinner, followed by a GPIC presentation by Dennis Arne speaking on uncovering the mysterious metallogeny of Eastern Victoria followeb by a professional networking session.

The excursion concludes the following day, with a morning departure for the return journey home along the same route.

Dennis Arne has over 40 years’ experience in geology and applied geochemistry globally. He has overseen regional geochemical exploration programs in the Yukon, British Columbia, Nunavut and northern Quebec in Canada, the USA, eastern Australia, Suriname, Sudan and Laos. He was Managing Director and Principal Consultant - Geochemistry of CSA Global Canada until late 2017, General Manager and Principal Consultant – Geochemistry for Revelation Geoscience (purchased by CSA Global in 2012), Principal Consulting Geochemist with ioGlobal (now Reflex Geochemistry) and formerly Senior Geochemist with Geoscience Victoria (now Geological Survey of Victoria, Australia). Dennis is currently director and principal consulting geochemist at Telemark Geosciences and was until late 2021 Director of Exploration for E79 Resources. He is a Fellow and former President of the Association of Applied Geochemists, is a Member and a Registered Professional Geoscientist (Geochemistry) of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (#10064), and a registered Professional Geoscientist in British Columbia, Canada (#34686).
