Engineering the QLD way: mining engineering and registration

1
PD Hours

Engineers in the mining industry working in and for QLD are required to register as RPEQs. This webinar will help engineers comply with Queensland law as well as learn how AusIMM can assist them in registering as RPEQs.

About this event

The Queensland state engineering regulator is the Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland (Board/BPEQ). BPEQ administers the Professional Engineers Act 2002 (PE Act), regulates the engineering profession and registers engineers to practise. The Board is Australia’s first engineering regulator, tracing its roots back to 1930 when it was established by University of Queensland Professor Roger Hawken.

Engineers registered with BPEQ are granted the protected title of Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). Under the PE Act, any person carrying out a professional engineering service in or for Queensland must be a RPEQ. This includes engineers working in the mining industry.

In this webinar, you will learn about laws that regulate the professional engineering industry in Queensland to keep Queenslanders safe. Additionally, you’ll hear from AusIMM on how AusIMM can assist you in being assessed for RPEQ.
