About this event
QuickFire Night provides undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and early-career researchers with an opportunity to present an original idea, research project, industry insight, or innovative concept in a concise and engaging format.
Presentations will focus on topics relevant to the resources sector, including mining engineering, geology, metallurgy, mineral processing, sustainability, environmental management, automation, technology, and other industry-related disciplines.
The event is designed to encourage communication skills, innovation, and industry engagement while connecting students and researchers with AusIMM representatives and industry professionals. Presentations will be judged by a panel, with prizes awarded to top presenters. The evening will also include drinks, networking opportunities, and industry engagement.

5.00pm - 5.10pm: Welcome and event introduction
5.10pm - 5.40pm: Undergraduate QuickFire presentations
5.40pm - 6.10pm: Dinner break and judging deliberation
6.10pm - 6.55pm: Postgraduate/researcher presentations
6.55pm - 7.05pm: Judges' deliberation
7.05pm - 7.20pm: Awards and closing remarks
7.20pm - 8.00pm: Networking
