Speaker/s
Tristan Bettridge
He found his home in upper primary teaching, spending several years in Year 6 classrooms across Perth schools and leading the way in ICT. That combination, the rigour of business systems and the reality of school life, has shaped his work ever since.
It is a rare blend, and it is exactly what led Tristan to found Cultures of Excellence. He is drawn to the parts of school leadership others find hardest, the processes, the systems, the follow-through, and the succession that turn good intentions into a culture that lasts.
He is motivated by what he sees as an unmet need in education: the immeasurable impact possible for every child in every classroom when schools are led with strong stewardship, excellent leaders, and a healthy culture.
Marc French
A key focus of his work is Two-Way Science, using technology to bring Aboriginal knowledge, Country and culture together with Western science, STEM and digital skills. Working alongside schools, Elders and community, AirborneIT helps students capture Country, stories, language and knowledge and transform them into interactive digital and VR experiences.
Through partnerships with organisations including Cultures of Excellence, Marc is developing new approaches to immersive education where students become creators rather than simply consumers of technology strengthening connections to Country, improving engagement and helping ensure students in remote Australia can access the same opportunities as those anywhere else.
