PwC’s Mine 2026 report examines the performance of the world’s 40 largest mining companies, and the trends impacting the industry. The report explores how success will depend less on geology alone and more on how effectively companies, investors and governments mobilise policy, capital and productivity to drive outcomes.

Simon McKenna

Partner, Corporate Tax - PwC Australia
Simon is a Partner in PwC’s Melbourne corporate tax practice, specialising in mergers & acquisitions and international tax for the mining and resources sector. He has extensive experience advising on cross-border deals, restructurings and global expansions, including a two-year secondment in Jakarta working with mining and energy clients. Simon contributes to PwC’s global mining thought leadership, including the flagship Mine publication and the “Compare Mining Taxes” tool.

Scott Thompson

Partner, Sustainability Reporting and Assurance - PwC Australia
Scott is a Partner in our Sustainability Reporting and Assurance practice in Melbourne having worked with clients across the Mining and Resources sector. Scott has over 16 years’ experience, having worked in both London and Melbourne, and pairs strong financial acumen with extensive experience providing clients with assurance on Sustainability information and supporting them with broader Sustainability strategy development and reporting. Scott has also contributed to PwC’s mining thought leadership including being project lead for PwC’s 2019 Global Mine publication “resourcing the future”.
