Join the North Queensland Branch for their November Tech Talk: InterGroup Mining’s Silica Ridge Project.

About this event

Gain insights from Ross Garling, Head of Mining and SSE at InterGroup Mining, as he provides an overview of the Silica Ridge Project, including its mineral potential, development plans, and the key steps being undertaken to bring the project into production.

InterGroup Mining (IGM) has some 500km2 of tenements under granted mining leases, EPA’s and applications on top of the Lolworth Ranges, 30km north of Pentland, 100km west of Charters Towers. This project was formerly known as Brilliant Brumby, with the tenements now amalgamated into the Silica Ridge Project.

IGM is currently is pursuing the various approvals, pilot trialling, and engineering necessary to bring the project into production as fast as possible.

This is a large multi-mineral project with the potential to produce Kaolin, Metakaolin, High Purity Alumina, Silica, High Purity Silica, Gold, Rare Earth Elements, and Critical Minerals. The project is based generally on the Amarra granites, with intrusions of quartz veins, containing gold. The kaolin and silica resources are a weathering of the granites.

Current planning is for initially a 1.5mtpa operation with processing and calcining adjacent to the Townsville to Mt Isa Railway Line. Calcination and process is estimated to require approximately 50 MW of energy.
