About this event

This Perth Branch breakfast community event brings together professionals from across the resources sector for an engaging and thought‑provoking morning of conversation, learning and connection.

Attendees will hear from experienced industry leaders, bringing perspectives from across different areas of the mining sector and insights drawn from their careers.

The discussion will explore leadership, industry challenges and opportunities, and the realities of working across different roles, teams and environments, including how high-performing and inclusive workplaces are built in practice.

Participants will gain practical perspectives to support their own career development, enhance their understanding of industry dynamics, and take away insights they can apply to their role, team or organisation. With a strong focus on inclusion, collaboration and community, this Perth Branch breakfast event promises to be a practical and engaging way to start the day.

Laura Kuhar

Research and Development Manager at Rio Tinto
Laura Kuhar is a Research and Development leader in the mining and minerals sector and currently holds a senior R&D leadership role with Rio Tinto. She has previously led major innovation and research portfolios at CSIRO, Anglo American and De Beers, specialising in aligning R&D strategy with business priorities and translating complex technical challenges into practical, high‑value outcomes. Laura is also a recognised STEM advocate and science communicator.

Jacqui Coombes

Executive Director at Sage Ability
Jacqui Coombes is an experienced minerals industry leader specialising in minerals reporting, resource estimation, governance, and applied innovation. An author, advisor and chair, she was awarded the SME Harry M. Parker Award for Excellence and Leadership in 2025 for her outstanding contributions to professional standards in the resources sector.

Dani Tamati

Founder and Director of Resourceful Women

Danita Tamati is the Founder and Director of THE resources HUB, a specialised careers, talent and recruitment consultancy serving the mining and resources sector. With over 30 years’ experience across mining operations, workforce strategy and recruitment, she has built extensive industry networks and is a strong advocate for people‑centred leadership. Danita is a Board Director and Past President of the WA Mining Club, and a Fellow of AusIMM (FAusIMM), with a long‑standing commitment to advancing careers and capability across the resources industry.

Sara Adly

Executive Director
Sara Adly is an Executive leader in the resources and energy sector with nearly two decades of experience driving growth, strategy, and client outcomes across mining and infrastructure. As an Executive Director at Jacobs, she leads Jacobs’ strategy and major client partnerships in the Resources sector, focusing on integrated delivery, decarbonisation and energy transition for tier-one mining clients. Sara is the Executive Sponsor of the Jacobs Women’s Network in Perth and a strong advocate for inclusive leadership and diversity. She is passionate about delivering innovative, sustainable solutions and inspiring high-performing teams to create meaningful impact across the industry.

Masud Hossain

Masud is a mining engineer with 23 years’ experience in mine planning, engineering, management consulting, financial analysis and governance. He currently serves as Principal Mining Engineer at Covalent Lithium and is an active, long time AusIMM member committed to professional development and industry leadership. Masud is the Secretary of the AusIMM Perth Branch and supports the next generation through coaching and mentoring of startups, entrepreneurs and young engineers, including involvement with Spacecubed and as a committee member at ECU Business School. He will moderate a panel of esteemed speakers to discuss practical approaches for building more inclusive, supportive and high performing workplaces in the resources sector.
