Join the Perth Branch for their November tech talk: Presentation Mastery: Communicate Clearly, Build Confidence, Influence Decisions.

About this event

Your technical knowledge has greater impact when you can communicate it clearly. Whether presenting project findings, recommending a solution or briefing senior leaders, how you deliver your message can influence your credibility and career opportunities.

Designed for professionals working in technical roles, this practical session will explore how to structure a presentation, translate technical detail for different audiences, manage nerves and respond confidently to questions. Attendees will learn how to make their key message clear, use slides purposefully and finish with a clear recommendation or next step.

Lan Tran will draw on more than 30 years of commercial experience, including work with organisations across mining, energy, defence and technology, alongside keynote speaking and facilitating industry discussions. This session will support AusIMM Perth Branch’s professional development focus, helping members communicate their expertise, build trust and influence decisions.

This presentation is designed for members who are just starting their career journey, as well as those with significant experience looking to build their confidence in public forums, consolidating their skills in getting their messages heard, and ultimately influencing decisions. These skills are particularly relevant in the era of emails, SMS and AI.
