There are five steps to successful steps to effective communication. Each has its own perils, but when you manage them with planning, preparation and practice, you will perform, and achieve the objectives that you have set for yourself.

Morrie Goodz will cover off the steps to becoming a better communicator, the implications for leadership and options to take for the next step in your journey.

The focus will be on what skills are necessary to become a better communicator, where and how to develop these skills, when to use them, and what are the implications on leadership and the success of your career, team & organisation.

Morrie Goodz has over 10 years’ of corporate management and ASX-listed company executive boardroom experience, built on over 20 years’ of mining/processing operations management including regulator and stakeholder management.
Morrie believes that communications training was the key to transferring his career from a technical services specialist to a corporate leader.
In 2021, Morrie became only the second dual Toastmasters District 17 Speaking Champion, which he credits to perseverance and practice in competent communications training.
Since 2018, Morrie commits his time to several community organisations, promoting food development in Southwest WA, and in 2024 becoming a Community Engagement Facilitator and a Training Officer, both with the Department of Fire & Emergency Services, built on his years of representation /support of mining company stakeholder reference groups and mines rescue.

Morrie has been an AusIMM member for 39 years and is a FAusIMM(CP Man).
