Abdul Halim

Chief Technology Officer, Process Research ORTECH

Dr. Abdul Halim has over 15 years of experience in developing, simplifying and optimizing the innovative and sustainable process flow-sheets for metals including gold, lithium, cobalt, nickel; base metals; PGMs; and rare earths through bench, pilot and demonstration plant operations. He has authored more than 50 scientific and technical papers, 5 US patents and a number of book chapters in these areas. He worked at different organizations, including, SGS Lakefield, Canada; FLSmidth, Salt Lake City, USA; National University of Singapore; and Kyushu University of Japan. Dr. Halim has a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the Kyushu University of Japan; Master of Philosophy in Inorganic Chemistry from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET); and Master and Bachelor degrees in Chemistry from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He also received postdoctoral awards from NSERC of Canada and JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences) of Japan.
