The CSIRO Characterisation Capabilities Tour
This tour will showcase the latest advances in multi-scale (from drill core down to nanometre) characterisation of ore deposits with a focus on iron ore characterisation across the value chain. It will include examples and labs visit focussing on mineralogical, chemical, textural and physical properties characterisation across scale and dimension.
Rio Tinto Operations Centre Tour
The tour will provide a practical understanding of how integrated mine-to-ship systems operate in a world-class iron ore business and showcase how a state-of-the-art facility enables all the autonomous trucks, trains and drills at our mines, ports and rail systems to be operated from a single location.
Tour schedule
- 9:30am: Bus pick up from Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre
- 10:30am - 12:00pm: Rio Tinto Ops Centre
- 12:05pm - 12:30pm: Bus to CSIRO Kensington
- 12.45pm - 1.30pm: Lunch at CSIRO Kensington
- 1:30pm - 3:30pm: Presentation of CSIRO Characterisation Capabilities at Australian Resources Research Center
- 3.30 pm - 4:00pm: Bus to Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
