The Life of Mine Committee are gearing up to review hundreds of abstracts currently being submitted for AusIMM's highly anticipated Life of Mine Conference, returning this August to Brisbane. We recently caught up with the committee to discover what they want to see and who should be submitting an abstract this year.

What abstracts are the Life of Mine Conference Committee wanting to see in 2023?

We are looking for abstracts that present innovative and practical approaches to designing a mine’s life cycle and its future, as well as pioneering case studies on integrated closure planning from around the globe.

Who should be submitting an abstract for Life of Mine?

Industry professionals or students with a genuine passion for mine innovations should be submitting abstracts, as well as Indigenous individuals and groups.

This year marks 6 years of AusIMM’s Life of Mine Conference. What is something new the Conference Committee are planning to see at Life of Mine 2023?

The focus on decarbonisation has increased significantly in the last 6 years and we expect that there will be presentations of innovative projects that have contributed to this goal.
