Lucy Barrie is a graduate mining engineer with Glencore Queensland Metals, and is currently completing underground rotations at Mount Isa Copper Operations. She completed her studies at UNSW last year and during her time as a student was part of the AusIMM Sydney Student Chapter but since relocating to Mount Isa has joined the North West Queensland AusIMM Branch.

Despite not having spent that much time working in the resources industry, Lucy’s interests lie in mine to mill optimisation, automation in underground mining and increasing diversity in the mining industry. After being on the Organising Committee for New Leaders’ Online in 2020, Lucy is looking forward to help put together another engaging New Leaders for 2021!
