Will your team be the APAC Mining Games Champions in 2026?


The Asia Pacific (APAC) Mining Games is a chance for students from around Australia get together to compete in a range of events for ultimate glory!

The event is dedicated to all miners who have lost their lives in the course of duty and aim to keep traditional mining methods alive; many of which date back to the 17th century. The goal of the Games? To build comradery and connections between students and industry, as well as highlight the significant role mining plays within our community.

The 2026 APAC Mining Games

AusIMM's Southern Queensland Student Chapter are proud to be the host of the 2026 APAC Mining Games, held after the New Leaders Summit!

In 2026 National Mining Games will feature 9 events; Blast Face Tie In, Gold Panning, Mucking, Rock Identification, Swede Saw, Survey, Risk Assessment, Airleg Drilling and Track Stand. The competition will include women’s, mixed, men’s and alumni teams of a maximum of six participants, competing in these events for prizes to be awarded at the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on the final day. 

To participate you must be a member of an AusIMM Student Chapter (student teams) or an AusIMM member (industry teams).
