David Mason

Laboratory Manager, SGS

David Mason is Laboratory Manager of SGS’s Perth Airport laboratory, the central hub for geochemistry operations across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. With more than 15 years of experience spanning analytical laboratories, metallurgy, hazardous waste management and operational leadership, David brings extensive expertise in laboratory optimisation, automation and continuous improvement.
Since joining SGS in 2019, David has held leadership roles across laboratory operations, most recently overseeing one of Australia's largest geochemistry testing facilities. He has played a key role in driving operational excellence, improving turnaround times and implementing innovative technologies that enhance safety, productivity and data quality. David is passionate about leveraging automation and process innovation to help laboratories scale capacity, reduce risk and deliver faster, more reliable results for clients.
