Transient Considerations for Mine Ventilation Simulation and Design

Steady state simulation is traditionally the tool of choice for mine ventilation design.  However transient modelling of variations in ventilation conditions (airflow, temperature, gases) due to traffic or shaft movements, mobile heat sources, thermal flywheel effects and activity schedules can help ventilation designers to consider peak loads and likely variations in their ventilation systems.  The workshop will use Ventsim to demonstrate a number of transient modelling methods and outcomes.
