Dr. Chunlin Chen

Principal Research Scientist, CSIRO Mineral Resources

Dr. Chunlin Chen is currently a Principal Research Scientist with CSIRO Mineral Resources.

He holds a BEng and MEng. in Nonferrous Metallurgy from Northeastern University, and a PhD in Metallurgy from the University of Science and Technology Beijing, China.

Prior to joining CSIRO, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow with Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials of Tohoku University, Japan.

Chunlin has 30 years R&D (research and development) experience in high temperature processing of minerals and materials, with particular application to the pyrometallurgical production and refining of metals.

His current research interests include the development of thermodynamic model/database of molten phases, base metal smelting, ewaste recycling and critical minerals processing.
