Matt Vincent is the Chief Executive Officer of Resources Victoria, a dedicated portfolio within the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action responsible for supporting and regulating Victoria’s mining and quarrying industries.

He is driving the implementation of Victoria’s Critical Minerals Roadmap, focused on unlocking more than $200 billion of in‑ground resources in northwest Victoria to support the global renewable energy transition and strengthen secure supply chains.

Matt is a strong advocate for a sustainable and competitive resources industry, recognising its vital role in delivering the raw materials needed for the clean energy transition. He is committed to ensuring the sector operates within a modern, transparent regulatory framework that balances investment attraction, environmental stewardship and community confidence.

Prior to his current role, Matt held senior leadership positions across the Victorian public sector, including at the Department of Premier and Cabinet, the Victorian Building Authority, the Environment Protection Authority, and Zoos Victoria.
