Neil Goodman

Non-Executive Director, HILT CRC

Neil is currently the WA based Non-Executive Director of the HILT CRC, the Australian Government funded cooperative research centre that funds industry-led research into derisking new decarbonising technologies for heavy industry. Concurrently the Managing Director of Smelt Tech Consulting, a Perth based company that has the provides consulting services on ironmaking to steel companies worldwide.

Previously the General Manager of Rio Tinto’s HIsmelt Corporation, responsible for the design and operation of the commercial scale HIsmelt plants in Western Australia and China. Prior to HIsmelt, involved in the design and commissioning of ironmaking plants in Europe, America and Asia for Davy McKee. Graduated from Imperial College London, with a degree in Metallurgy, and recipient of the Charles Salter prize for excellence in metallurgy from the Royal School of Mines
