In 2027, we proudly celebrate 50 years of AusIMM’s flagship Underground Operators Conference – Australasia’s premier forum for underground mining professionals.
Since the inaugural conference in Broken Hill in 1977, this event has been hosted in some of Australia’s most iconic mining towns and cities. Following AusIMM’s largest-ever Underground Operators in 2025, we look forward to building on this momentum to further expand the reach and impact of this globally recognised event.
Underground Operators 2027 will bring together our community to connect, share knowledge and celebrate five decades of professional excellence in underground mining. We warmly invite you to join us in Perth.

Welcome from the 2027 Advisory Committee
On behalf of the Conference Advisory Committee, we invite underground mining professionals from across Australia and around the world to join us at the AusIMM Underground Operators Conference 2027, from 5–7 April at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Marking 50 years of this important industry gathering, #UgOps2027 will bring together engineers, operators, technical specialists, managers and industry leaders to share practical knowledge, operational experience and ideas to help shape the future of underground mining.
As the industry continues to navigate increasing operational complexity, evolving technologies and changing workforce expectations, the strength of the conference will come from the experience and participation of its delegates and exhibitors. Through technical presentations, case studies and discussion, attendees will help create a program that reflects the challenges, achievements and innovations shaping underground operations today.
