Jenny Oosterhof
Jenny holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Health from Curtin University. She began her career at Alcoa, gaining valuable experience before moving to the Department of Mines, where she worked in occupational health and safety regulation of the mining industry and later in strategic resources policy. In 2022, she joined the former Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation to lead the Battery and Critical Minerals team.
As the State’s lead agency supporting Western Australia’s economic development agenda, DEED works with industry and supports priority sectors that form the foundation of Western Australia’s economy. In addition to battery and critical minerals, key energy transition sectors include renewable hydrogen and carbon capture, use and storage.
Jenny’s current role is responsible for developing and implementing the State’s Battery and Critical Minerals Strategy, which is designed to support future investment as the State pushes to become a major global player in the downstream processing of critical minerals.
