ยท 500 words, 4 minute read

The Strategic Mine Planning Conference 2026 is your opportunity to showcase innovative ideas, research, and practical solutions that will drive the future of mine planning and orebody modelling.

As we approach the submission deadline, here are some practical tips to strengthen your abstract and maximise your chances of presenting your insights to the broader mining community.

1. Who should submit an abstract?

We welcome contributions from researchers, academics, consultants, and industry professionals with expertise in mine planning, orebody modelling and related disciplines. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

2. Is it aligned with the conference themes?

Your abstract should relate to one of the Strategic Mine Planning Conference 2026 themes. A full list of themes is available here.

3. Is it original?

The committee values original submissions with strong technical content. Topics may include (but are not limited to) emerging trends, new methodologies, and research in strategic mine planning.

If your work has been published elsewhere, it must be substantially revised or updated. Please notify AusIMM in writing if you intend to submit previously published material.

4. Highlight the significance

Clearly articulate the importance of your research or case study. Explain its impact on the industry and emphasise key findings and core concepts that demonstrate its relevance.

5. Maintain quality and clarity

Ensure your abstract is concise, well-structured, and adheres to the word limit. Keep your writing clear and focused on the conference themes. We strongly recommend reviewing the AusIMM Guide to Authors before submission.

The Strategic Mine Planning Conference Committee is excited to invite abstract submissions that will help shape next year’s event in Perth.

Submit your abstract today for a chance to share your expertise with industry leaders, academics, and professionals from across the globe.
