Tobias Massang

AusIMM New Professional Network Ambassador
Tobias is a 2025 New Professionals Network Ambassador for Queensland, member of the AusIMM Southern QLD Branch Committee and thesis student at the University of Queensland. Completing his Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in Mining at UQ, Tobias has gained a diverse range of work experience throughout his undergraduate career. During the summers of 2022, 2023, and 2024, he completed placements in underground coal, underground metals, and open-cut coal, respectively.

In 2024, he was elected as president of the AusIMM Southern Qld Student Chapter and principal organiser of the 2024 National Mining Games held in Brisbane. Before his role as president, Tobias also served as the Vice President of the chapter and UQ’s Mining and Metallurgical Student Association (MAMA) throughout 2023. As he approaches the completion of his degree, Tobias aims to deepen his understanding of mine planning and mine process optimisation.

Kylie Webb

Principal People & Capability, BHP
Kylie has extensive systems improvement, safety, training and operational management experience that spans 25 years across the vocational training, corporate, resources, utilities, military, international aviation sectors.
Initially an education professional managing the development of financial services reform program and operational projects for BankWest, Kylie migrated into industrial vocational training, operational safety and business improvement roles in Western Australia, and globally across a variety of industries.

Kylie has managed and participated in projects overseas in Kuwait, United States, China, Thailand, East Timor and Oman developing and implementing integrated management systems and standards to support resource operations, governance, engineering, aviation and education projects.
Kylie has supported and managed:
• Development and implementation of Standards to support resource operations, engineering, maintenance and construction projects.
• Created and delivered specialist business improvement programs and projects.
• Created and implemented Vocational Development Programs to Australian Quality Standards worldwide.
• Audited and managed high-risk work operations.
• Provided expertise for the development and review of the AQF on various quality standards panels.
• Financial, quality and safety governance processes across aviation, mining, constructions and finance industry sectors.
• International crisis response efforts and in country rehabilitation.

In addition, Kylie has substantive project management experience in developing and implementing work systems for banking, mining and construction industries incorporating warehousing and retail security.

Kylie has developed and implemented six sigma operational improvement systems, risk management strategies, training pathways, investigation and reporting processes.

Kylie has also worked with companies across the globe to develop and implement cultural transformation programs to improve operational performance across safety, wellbeing and team capability and resilience.
