About this event
Consulting offers an amazing and challenging career path for professionals working in the resources sector. From individuals operating from a home office to the teams of large international consultancies, the work done by consultants on resources projects around the globe adds value in many and varied ways. Increasingly, companies of all sizes need external consultants with specific skills and expertise, with strategic business knowledge or experience, or with an independent, objective or external view.
Our industry is almost unique in that for many professions, qualifications and skills are transferable between states and countries meaning national and international projects are common across a wide range of commodities. To maximise your opportunities as a consultant you need certain skills and talents, you need to embrace changes and challenges and turn those into opportunities. Into the future, the consulting industry is only going to grow so this lecture covers ten rules to thrive and survive in consulting.
The lecture will cover the highlights and challenges of being a career consultant in the resources sector. It looks at what skills and traits a successful consultant needs to have both now in the future. It discusses common challenges and how to deal with these while maintaining professional integrity.
Deborah has worked as a consultant for almost 25 years and in companies for more than a decade, so she brings both perspectives to a presentation discussing Ten Rules for Thriving and Surviving in consulting.
