Join the Southern Queensland Branch for their In-Person and Livestream event: From data to decisions: The evolution of simulation in minerals processing.

About this event

Today it’s not uncommon for the cost of constructing a new processing plant to exceed several billion dollars. The stakes have never been higher and as such the technical risk associated with adopting emergent energy efficient technologies is often seen as unpalatable or downright irresponsible. Across the industry, organisations are battling with the competing forces of basic minerals economics, technical risk and ESG targets.

So how can many of those considerations be brought together and evaluated to find the right balance between progressive technical innovation and robust risk management? Minerals Processing Modelling and Simulation has for many decades played a pivotal role in codifying equipment performance for varying ore characteristics and providing a means to understand production risks.

The presentation will cover a brief overview of mineral processing simulators before discussing the current trends in modelling and the skills required for model building and performing simulations for technical evaluations.
