Hans Oskierski is an Associate Professor in the School of Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry and Physics and a member of the Sustainable Geochemistry and Mineral Science (GeMS) research group at Murdoch University. His research cuts across the fields of isotope geochemistry, mineralogy and extractive metallurgy and centres on two of modern society’s pressing issues - the safe and permanent storage of CO2 and the sustainable supply of critical minerals and metals for the transition to clean energy technologies. Hans values collaborative research and has developed many partnerships with colleagues in academia, industry and government focusing on the development of processes for CO2 mineralisation in mine tailings and extraction of lithium from minerals. He publishes in leading scientific journals and is active as a reviewer and technical advisor. As the Academic Chair of the Extractive Metallurgy program at Murdoch University he develops new course offerings that cater to industry and the next generation of industry professionals.
