Dr. Sibasis Acharya

Director, Citigold Corporation

Dr. Sibasis Acharya is a Director at Citigold Corporation Ltd, a publicly listed gold mining company based in Brisbane. He brings over 20 years of leadership and technical expertise across the metallurgy and minerals industry, encompassing the full project lifecycle from development studies and engineering design to commissioning, ramp-up, and process optimization.

Dr. Acharya has extensive experience in operations, business development, data analytics, project management, and applied research across multiple commodities, including gold, silver, iron, copper, zinc, nickel, cobalt, lithium, rare earth elements, and alumina. He plays a key role in defining corporate strategy, enhancing operational performance, and advancing sustainable mineral processing practices.

He holds a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering, an MTech in Materials Science, and an MBA. Dr. Acharya is a Fellow of several professional institutes, including International  Association for Engineering & Technology (FIAET), the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM), the Institute of Managers and Leaders (FIML), the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI), and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD). He also contributes as an Industry Fellow (Honourary) at Queensland University of Technology, fostering collaboration between academia and industry to translate advanced sustainability research into innovative, real-world solutions for the mining and energy sectors. He has published in leading scientific journals and contributes as an editor, reviewer, and technical advisor in the fields of materials science, metallurgy, and mineral processing.
