Mt Coot-tha Day Tour
Overview: A day tour to some of the most beautiful sites in Brisbane! A short drive from Brisbane City, visit Mt Coot-tha, the 26-ha quarry, been in operation for more than a century, supplied much pf the asphalt aggregate used for Brisbane’s roads, operated by Brisbane City Council.
Council has initiated activity to consider potential post-closure development opportunities for the site (although no firm closure date exists). Hosted by the Site Senior Executive (SSE), the tour will visit the site and discuss challenges with operating such a site in an inner-city location, post-closure opportunities and other general Q&A with the SSE.
Following the tour, it is an opportunity to have lunch with beautiful views over Brisbane, and presentations on post-closure vision and engagement processes.
The afternoon will feature two (2) activities in which you can choose to take a tailored, guided tour of the Botanic Gardens with Gardens Operations Coordinator and Technical Coordinator or an astronomy-based show within the Cosmic Skydome, includes a night sky tour of Brisbane from an astronomer.
