Mill Operators Evolution Mining Ernest Henry Site Tour
The Evolution Mining Ernest Henry Site Tour will be held from 22-24 October 2026 at the Ernest Henry Mine Site, Cloncurry.
Evolution Mining’s Ernest Henry Operations is located 38km north-east of Cloncurry, Queensland, Australia, within the Cloncurry Shire, it is an underground mining operation employing sub level caving ore extraction methods. The Ernest Henry iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) deposit sits within the Eastern Succession of the Mount Isa Inlier. Copper and gold are recovered from the ore using traditional grinding and flotation methods in the concentrator. The plant has a current processing rate of ~6.8Mtpa (8.5Mtpa capacity and scalable to ~11Mtpa). The concentrator incorporates grinding, conventional flotation and dewatering. A single copper-gold-silver concentrate is produced by a rougher and a three-stage cleaning circuit. The concentrate is treated at Glencore’s Mt Isa smelter (~150km trucking distance) and metal is refined at Glencore’s Townsville refinery.
The tour includes flights, transfers, accomodation, meals and a full site tour of the Cloncurry mine.
The tour is ticketed and available for purchase by all conference attendees. Booking are essential.

Day 1
Thursday 22 October
•Delegates make their own way to Brisbane Airport
•1:55pm flight departs (allow time for boarding)
•4:35pm arrive into Mt Isa
•Travel by chartered bus to accommodation (IBIS Styles Mt Isa Verona)
•Leisure time till dinner
•7:00pm dinner on site at Giuseppe's Cantina
Day 2
Friday 23 October
•6:00am Breakfast
•7:00am Departure to EHM
•Bus will meet outside the IBIS Styles Hotel
•Travel to EHM
•On arrival, delegates will be checked in by EHM Staff
•Delegates will attend a presentation of an overview of the mine/process and any housekeeping.
•Tour through the concentrator
•Viewing area to see the old open pit/current portal
•Lunch provided
•Return accommodation to refresh before dinner
•Dinner tonight will be at Buffs Club – Frog and Toad Bar & Grill
Day 3
Saturday 24 October
•Leisurely breakfast
•8.30am bus will depart for the Airport
•9:20am flight to Brisbane
•Delegates to make their own way from Brisbane airport
