Mr Thompson is an accomplished Mining Engineer, Project Manager and Mining Consultant with 35+ years' experience in the mining industry.  Mr Thompson combines front line mining operations experience with consulting, in roles of leadership and management of mining business activities across Asia Pacific, Africa and South America.  He has worked with all tiers of mining industry throughout all project stages, often leading multi-disciplinary teams.  These roles have covered both mine owner and service provider roles.   

Mr. Thompson is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM), with whom he is also a CP (Mining).

Hugh joined NextOre in 2024 as the Client Success Manager, to ensure that clients receive the best experience at all stages of involvement with NextOre.
