Joanne Pafumi

AusIMM is excited to welcome Joanne Pafumi as the Series Moderator for the 2026 Thought Leadership Series. Joanne will guide panel discussions across all events - fostering continuity, deeper conversations and sharper insights into the trends shaping our global industry. 

With more than 30 years' experience across the mining and energy sectors, Joanne is a senior corporate affairs executive known for her stakeholder-led approach to ESG strategy and sustainable development. Her career spans zine-lead mining with Xstrata and Glencore, coal seam gas and LNG with QGC, and leadership roles across Victoria's electricity distribution networks - CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy.

Joanne currently leads the development and implementation of the inaugural ESG Roadmap for Schlam Payload, a global mining services company specialising in customised load and haul equipment for hard rock mining. 

She brings a pragmatic perspective to aligning ESG ambition with business outcomes while addressing the needs of customers, communities, regulators and employees.
