Adrian Penney

Head of Geotechnical Engineering, MMG

Adrian is a geotechnical engineer with extensive experience across site-based operations, consulting and global mining environments. He has worked across a range of commodities and jurisdictions, specialising in rock mechanics, geotechnical analysis and underground mining stability. Adrian holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of Tasmania and an MEngSc in Mining Geomechanics from Curtin University. He is a AusIMM Fellow Chartered Professional and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland. 

Adrian has been an active AusIMM member for over 20 years, contributing through a range of leadership and governance roles. He has served as Chair of the AusIMM Chartered Professional Program and is currently a member of the AusIMM Professional Conduct Committee. He continues to support the industry through advisory roles, including participation on conference advisory committees and technical networks.
