Laura Tyler

Laura Tyler has enjoyed a 35 year career in civil and mining industries with a focus on people and value chain excellence applied to operational, technical, exploration and project leadership.  A long-time advocate for women in resources, she has held executive leadership roles with BHP in both operational and technical leadership since 2012 and delivered sustainable change in performance as a member of BHP’s Executive Leadership Team from 2017 - 2024.

Laura’s global career includes roles with Mount Isa Mines, WMC Resources, Newcrest Mining and BHP Group in addition to early career experience in the UK civil engineering industry and the British Geological Survey. With a strong belief in technical excellence underpinning safe and productive operations, Laura regards innovation and technology as the next ‘big leap’ to deliver exploration, extraction and closure outcomes and meet the resources needs of the world for centuries to come.

Laura graduated from the University of Wales, Cardiff with a Bachelor of Science (Honours), Geology and from the Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter with a Masters of Science, Mining Engineering (with Distinction).
