Industry Insight Symposium - Adelaide

Viv is a Mining Engineer with 10 years of experience in the resources sector, having worked across a diverse range of projects in underground hard rock mining and open pit operations. Viv's career has exposed him to a wide variety of operations in South Australia, Western Australia and New South Wales, with a primary focus on Copper, Gold and Zinc. During his career, Viv has gained comprehensive technical knowledge of both underground and open pit mining techniques, from sub-level open stoping drill & blast, mine planning, production, backfill, ventilation, ground support, surveying and rehabilitation, and has undertaken practical experience in both domains.

Viv holds a First Class Mine Managers ticket in WA and NSW and is passionate about leadership and management by promoting a collaborative approach to fostering strong relationships and is driven by inspiring and motivating teams to achieve excellence. Outside of his professional career, Viv is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of mining professionals to ensure a healthy pipeline of industry talent. Viv has been an active member of the AusIMM, having held multiple roles in the Adelaide Branch Student Chapter, Adelaide Branch Committee, and was the former President for the New Professional Network.
