About this event

A panel of five speakers will reflect on their careers and provide insights into their career progression, the challenges they have faced, lessons learnt and where the mining and metals industries are heading.

Dr Rochelle Macdonald

Executive General Manager
Dr Rochelle Macdonald, Executive General Manager Squadron Energy. Rochelle has held roles in engineering, development, strategy and project delivery including as the chief executive of Sea Swift, Northern Australia’s largest shipping company, chief executive of Mid Wests Port Authority in Geraldton, senior management positions at North Queensland Bulk Ports and Dampier (now Pilbara) Port Authority.

Yvette Heritage

Managing Director
Yvette Heritage, Managing Director SCT Operations. Yvette is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer and has been a Director for 5 years, providing consulting services primarily to the mining industry, is keenly involved in industry ACARP projects and is the Treasurer of the Mine Subsidence Technological Society. Away from work, Yvette is a keen navigator for offshore racing, including the Sydney to Hobart.

Robyn Johnson

Director Environment, Health, Safety and Quality Consultancy (Blend ESQ)
Robyn Johnson, Director Environment, Health, Safety and Quality Consultancy (ESQ). Robyn’s early career as an Environmental Scientist fuelled her interest in fusing scientific advances and management systems to effect better outcomes for industry and community. Her advocacy for industry, environment and community in the establishment of a brains trust of positive stories through the ‘Wollongong, Let’s Get Salty’ podcast, energising the region to connect with nature and up its sustainability game.

Amanda Crehan

Exploration Superintendent & Operations Manager
Amanda has worked at South32 Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) for over 16 years in a number of operational and functional roles across Exploration, Business Improvement & Strategy and Engineering. With a UOW Master of Business Administration, Amanda demonstrates advocacy for women in resources, both under her remit during her time as Manager Business Improvement, but also as a passionate advocate for equality in her other roles. Amanda is currently the South32 IMC Exploration Superintendent and Operational Manager of Cordeaux Mine Site. A Geologist by profession, she is currently leading IMC’s Exploration team, managing 30+ employees and contractors in key work areas including bore hole site preparation and drilling, future planning, rehabilitation, groundwater monitoring, 2D and 3D seismic acquisition and aeromagnetic acquisition.

Erin Lee

Consultant Regional Manager
In her role Erin provides industry experience to assist mines to increase their safety management standards to best practice levels, resulting in safer workplaces.
