About this event

The Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves ('the JORC Code') is a professional code of practice that sets minimum standards for Public Reporting of minerals Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves.

The Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) initiated an update to the Code to address issues identified in the application of the Code since it was last revised. The draft JORC Code will be available for a 3-month public feedback period from August to October via the JORC website.

JORC will present an overview of the draft JORC Code, including an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on any areas of change or interest.

Steve is a geologist with 42 years industry experience in Australia, Indonesia and PNG. His career has included mine geology, resource development, resource evaluation, ore control and ore reserves compliance for a number of commodities including Iron, Copper, Gold and Uranium. He has worked for juniors, large companies including Rio Tinto and in consulting. He has been a member of JORC since 2005 and Chair since 2014.

Lynn Olssen

Chief Advisor Orebody Knowledge Technical Assurance, Rio Tinto. JORC Committee Member.
Lynn works in the Orebody Knowledge Centre of Excellence at Rio Tinto, looking after the Group’s Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves disclosure. She is a geologist by background with over 30 years’ experience in operational and consulting roles in the mining industry. She has been a member of JORC since the start of 2023.
Lynn has a Bachelor of Science from UWA as well as Graduate Certificates in Geostatistics and Corporate Finance. She is a recipient of the 2014 Minerals Council of Australia’s Women in Mining Scholarship for the Australian Institute of Company Director’s Course and was awarded a place on the 100 Inspirational Women in Mining list in 2018.
