Join the Metallurgical Society for their upcoming webinar: An introduction to hydrometallurgy for non-Hydrometallurgists.

About this event

Hydrometallurgy, along with mineral processing and pyrometallurgy, is used to extract and refine metals and inorganic compounds. Hydrometallurgy uses aqueous solutions to extract metals from ores, concentrates, and secondary sources. In hydrometallurgy, various techniques such as leaching, precipitation, solvent extraction, and electrowinning are employed to separate and recover metals from their ores.

The choice of hydrometallurgy and/or pyrometallurgy is dictated entirely by process chemistry. This webinar will review the unit operations and processes occurring in hydrometallurgical flowsheets.

Webinar time: 11.00am - 12.00pm AEST.

Speaker/s

Dr Amilton B Botelho Junior

Post Doc Researcher, Standford University, California
Amilton is a researcher at Stanford University in California. His research is currently focused on the use of membrane technology in hydrometallurgy applications. He has experience in the fundamentals of hydrometallurgy, with projects in leaching, solution purification, solvent extraction, ion exchange and precipitation processes. Currently his work is focusing on the extraction of critical metals from end of life consumer materials.
