Webinar: Process analytics - When time matters: Fast OES Element Analysis for slags
Join the Metallurgical Society for their webinar: Process analytics - When time matters: Fast OES Element Analysis for slags.
About this event
In steel plants, waiting for slag analysis can take 10–15 minutes. This is a problem for modern, recycling-based processes that change quickly. The usual method, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), needs long preparation steps like crushing, grinding, and pressing, which makes fast decisions impossible.
A new solution is Laser Optical Emission Spectroscopy (Laser OES / LIBS). This method excites the sample with laser pulses and uses digital data processing instead of physical preparation. As a result, slag composition can be measured in less than one minute.
Laser OES systems are already used every day in Europe, the USA, China, and other regions. This webinar will explain the technology, show examples from industry, and discuss how it brings real benefits to high-throughput steel production.
Webinar time: 5.00pm - 6.00pm AEDT.
