Join the Metallurgical Society for their webinar: Understanding the minerals and mineralogy of mineral sands.

About this event

Heavy mineral beach sands are a significant source of valuable metals and minerals, often containing high concentrations of heavy minerals such as zircon, rutile, and ilmenite. These sands, primarily found in present day or ancient coastal or riverine environments, from the natural weathering and erosion of rocks, resulting in concentrated deposits of these minerals.

In this webinar, Dr Mike Wort, Principal Metallurgist will explore the mineralogy of heavy mineral sands, discussing the composition and identification of the key minerals present in these deposits.

Join us for an in-depth discussion on the minerals and mineralogy of heavy mineral sands, a cornerstone of modern mineral resource industries.

Webinar time: 1.00pm - 2.00pm AEST
