Join the Perth Branch for their May Tech Talk: Drainage and Monitoring of Groundwater in Construction.

About this event

This technical talk will focus on groundwater drainage during the construction of a dam in Moquegua, Peru. Pumping tests and modelling were used to lower the water level and enable safe excavation of the site and construction of walls, highlighting the importance of well performance and monitoring.

These techniques can be applied to other applications where groundwater can cause serious problems during mining and infrastructure construction.

The speaker, Melissa, brings experience and practical insights to the presentation. This topic will be of interest to geotechnical professionals and others with an interest in groundwater management.

Water - there is always too much or too little. Never just the right amount.
