About this event

Simtars is the Safety in Mines Testing and Research Station. One of our key purposes is to provide research, incident response, and scientific investigation support services to help improve safety and health outcomes for the Queensland mining industry. Simtars is a Queensland government agency, established in 1983 following the tragedies of the Box Flat Colliery and Kianga No 1 Colliery underground mine explosions. They operate within Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ).

This presentation will provide a summary of Simtars’ research journey over the last 30 years, an overview of current research projects and key scientific investigation support activities, including our 3D Laser Scanning work.

Event Schedule:

  • Networking from 5:30 - 6:00pm
    Finger food provided during networking
  • Presentation: 6:00 - 7:00pm
