About this event
The Tasmania Branch is holding a tech visit to Cement Australia - Cornwall Coal with two concurrent tours:
- Tour of the Washery/Processing plant at Fingal

This is the chance for hard rock miners to learn about coal mining and processing in Tasmania. Cornwall Coal have been in operation in Fingal since 1886.
Both tours will commence at 2.45pm for a 3.00pm start.
Tour requirements
- Site OH&S rules will apply and an induction prior is required.
- PPE is required and please bring your own to ease burden at site - Safety boots, hard hat, reflective long sleeve and long trouser workwear and safety glasses.
- For those attending the UG mine tour, a change of clothes is recommended.
- Both tours will be held during normal mine and washery operations so please respect the business and follow your guides instructions.
Both tours will require a level of fitness:
- For the UG mine tour: Attendees must be capable of touring into UG mine operations.
- For the washery tour: Attendees must be capable of walking up stairs and walkways.
Post tour networking session
An informal networking session after the tours will take place at St Marys Hotel with a few Cement Australia employees.
Drinks and food is to be purchased by attendees.
