Participants will learn what they need to do to remain compliant, if working in Victoria as Geotechnical or Environmental Engineers, and the ramifications if registration is not held.

Alongside Leigh, Sandra Malbourne, AusIMM's Accreditation Program Manager and Registrar, will also be attending to assist with questions and be your contact for future queries and applications.

Leigh Slomp is the Chief Advisor, Professional Standards at the AusIMM. Leigh is a resources industry executive and senior professional with 25 years of operational and management experience. In his current role at the AusIMM he is responsible for the Institute's work on industry codes and standards, professional accreditation and registration programs, and policy and advocacy activities. Previously based in London where he was Global Manager Resources and Exploration for ArcelorMittal Mining, he also inaugurated and chaired the AusIMM UK Committee.

Prior to that he held several senior leadership roles over a period of eight years at Atlas Iron in Western Australia. Leigh spent much of his early career in various technical and management roles across the WA mining industry. In additional to being a Chartered Professional in the Management discipline, Leigh is a Fellow of both the AusIMM and the Geological Society of London.
