Speakers

Amanda Blesing

Leadership Coach
My own 20+ year career journey came through designing and developing educational training programs and courses in the professional association world with my last role as CEO of SOCAP Australia.

The common theme of all professional associations is that people join for career advancement and self-promotion opportunities – publishing, speaking, Boards and Awards. I’ve booked and briefed more speakers than most people have had hot dinners!

In the last 7 years alone, I've spoken at, facilitated and hosted literally hundreds of programs tailored specifically to the needs of executive women.

A published author (two books) and frequently sought after by mainstream media for interviews on gender equity and women in leadership including AFR Boss Magazine, ABC and The Age.

You could say, I’ve been helping people win raises, promotions and recognition since 1993! It’s what I’m talented at.

Samantha Freebairn

Pilot, Royal Australian Air Force
Wing Commander Samantha Freebairn is a former C-130H Hercules and C-17 Globemaster pilot, with experience flying combat and humanitarian relief missions. She wrote the policy, which enabled her return to active duty flying after having children, was the first women in Australia to instruct pilots in the C-17A simulator and is currently the Deputy Director of Air Force Adaptive Culture.

In 2014, Samantha won the QLD Telstra Business Women’s Award in Business Innovation for the Graduate Pilot Scheme, which incentivises military aviation to women who had never previously considered it. This helped in successfully doubling women pilot numbers in the Air Force in 2 years, when they had remained stagnant for the prior 30 years. In 2016, she was named by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in their list of 100 most influential leaders under 40 and her personal goal for 2022 is to learn to play golf.
